Next week’s update for Dungeon Fighter Online will add a new character to the mix: Kunoichi, the girl on fire. There’s been no word yet if Suzanne Collins’ lawyers are investigating this patch for copyright infringement.
Not much has been revealed about Kunoichi yet other than she’s a female ninja who has a preference for fast attacks and a whole lot of fire. Fireballs? Fire breath? She’s all over it!
You can watch the bizarre if tongue-in-cheek developer video discussing Kunoichi’s creation after the break.

fakepants You can play with a gamepad, but you still need to use the mouse to rearrange inventory and stuff.

I think my nuance in exaggeration got lost in the translation. :(
(But thanks for explaining that! :) )
ManastuUtakata PizzaDoh It’s more like 32 or maybe 64 bits.  8-bit would be like the super block-ish stuff from 80’s consoles.
But yeah DFO is like… over 10 years old as of its original release in Korea. Â Though it only came to our shores like 5-ish years ago.
fakepants It doesn’t? Â Thought it did since there was a console version.
Still better than Avatar: The Last Airbender (movie).
Lightning bolt! Lightning bolt! Sleep!
Would definitely try the game if it had native gamepad support.
Kunoichi playstyle revolves around creating clones that finish cast times on her behalf, freeing her up to move, debuff with kunai, or cast even more spells (hence the overlapping effects in video lol). Additionally, she has a cooldown that “records” her casts: after 6 spells, a clone rapidly repeats those actions. Crazy burst. Oh, and clones explode after cast time/mimic animations… Burn all the things!Â
Actual gameplay example (mimic burst @ 3min): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SiYeYgaEmis
For those familiar with DFO: Kunoichi plays like mix of Nen and Ele Bomber (with even more cast cancels).
That had to be a perfect fusion of the “utterly ridiculous” and “wonderfully funny” in the same moment. o.O

To be fair, I think Dungeon Fighter is a much older game. Things get a tad lost in the 8 bit particle effects. :(
