Age of Conan is developing a raid finder and a solo arena

Imagine that you’re an Age of Conan player who really wants to take part in the game’s raids but also really can’t commit to a set raid night on a weekly basis. Your options are currently to either try to commit and fail or don’t commit and don’t get anything. But the game’s most recent development update makes it clear that there will soon be another option with the game’s raid finder, which matches people for a different raid each week.

Encounters in raid finder difficulty will scale to the level of accessibility, with a system planned to provide a bit of extra help to groups stuck on difficult encounters. If you want even more of a personal challenge, though, you can look forward to the upcoming solo arena encounters, which pit individual players against elaborate boss fights that make heavy use of a player’s companion. It’s just the thing to challenge you on a personal level, and given the number of people involved you never have to worry about disrupting someone else’s schedule.

Malorey   Isn’t AoC still more graphically intense than SW:TOR and Wildstar?

Wratts JamesCrow That’s why I haven’t returned. Terrible implementation of F2P. I should be able to go to Khitai, I spent full price on it at launch.

If I could down vote your comment, I would.  UO, DAoC, and dozens of other “pre-WoW” games are still playable on today’s OSs. Even WoW is playable on them too.   AoC is …2008ish, which is 4 years younger.

Is this old game still compatible with today’s operating systems and GPUs? :)

JamesCrow And if nothing else, playing F2P shouldn’t lock me out of an expansion that I actually bought.  That’s the thing that really gets me; the inventory and money limitations are petty but w/e.  Preventing me from accessing more than Khitai Gateway, when I’ve paid real money for the xpac, is unacceptable

paragonlostinspace Thought the same thing.  They really need to actually DO a crafting revamp before I pay attention.

Seriously, Funcom: message me; I swear to god in a couple of weeks we could cobble together a new crafting system using the CURRENT mats that’s at least as relevant as WoWs.  We’re not reinventing the wheel here, people.  Take the current mats, let people build crap that’s comparable to their level’s tier of gear, and maybe throw in a few rare mats letting them make something slightly better, and move on.

i have one msg to funcom – make a b2p & lifetime option like in tsw.
i really want to playing this game but i read the restriction and lets say i never played it.

i think funcom is the most original company in the mmo genre – yes there is no action combat but alot of other stuff.

Giggilybits Hell yes. One of the things that keeps me from going back to AoC is the yawnfest that is the Tortage starting area. I didn’t like it the first time and after running 3-4 characters through it, I can’t bear to set foot in it ever again. In all the years the game has been running, you’d think they could have added at least one more starting area by now.
