Elder Scrolls Online is giving away a million bucks

Who ever told you that playing video games would never pay off? If you happen to win Elder Scrolls Online’s new giveaway, you can shove a million bucks under the nose of any who doubted your direction in life.

That’s right: Elder Scrolls Online is giving away $1 million to a lucky player on February 1st, 2016, as well as several thousand crowns to 1,000 runners-up. To get in on that action, all you need do is fill out a form and log into the game by January 10th.

Elder Scrolls Online is currently 60% off as well, which is a good holiday deal for this buy-to-play game.

Robert80 Zarkov SoMuchMass looktheworldtalksback A good mate of mine works for a company that does this and explained what’s involved.  Registering the competition for the permit is not a complex procedure … in fact it’s fairly straightforward.  Zenimax just couldn’t be bothered spending the small amount of time doing it.

syberghost Zeneren (mateuszpachnik) This is a MYTH!  There is no legal reason why this could not have been run in Australia.  They just couldn’t have been asked filling in the forms to register the competition.

syberghost I do not know who is making those “silly” interpretations.
First of all, this promotion is directed only to the owners of the game, thus making it not a free promotion for all, only for owners of product.
Owners already bought the product, thus making an accusation, it would be a “unfair competition” a baseless and plain wrong IMO, following a logical route ofc.

Seriously i do not know from where, it will be an “unfair competition” came up..
Example:
It would be illegal to play Polish lottery, called Lotto, if someone would follow the logic of those interpretations. Everybody can win millions, in lottery, but you have to buy a coupon to play, is the rule here (as everywhere i imagine), and till now it worked and works still, from more then 25 years.

The rewards and “cumulations” of not won rewards, are still advertised, and even after this advertisement you can buy the coupon to be able to play and win.
This is not making an “unfair competition” argument to anyone, or any court. You have to be the owner of the coupon/game to be a participant. The same rule applies, or am i missing something.

Seriously i do not know those lawyers, or those interpretations, or lack of imagination, but a case built on an illogical/wrong assumption/ground is flawed and incorrect for a whole process, making it invalid in any court.

Zeneren (mateuszpachnik) syberghost actually a recent change in Polish law makes it an “unfair competition” if you advertise it as a free promotion but have to pay to buy the game. Which you do.

At least, that’s how some lawyers are interpreting the law. It’s possible that it will be overturned in Polish courts, but why should they put themselves in the position of having to hire a Polish legal team and fight in court? It’s easier to just not offer the promotion in Poland.

syberghost if you do not know the laws of the particular country, in this case Poland,  you should not try to make such assumptions.
There
are no special limitations for such promotions or events, known to my knowledge, in here so
please do not try to explain something that you, i suppose, do not have a
clue about.

The issue is they just do not bother, because of reasons, maybe the player base is not big enough, or maybe money/players from counties not listed do not matter to them.

ps. You really should not talk about things you do not know about, you’ll just look silly in the eyes of others. Especially trying to explain behaviours without knowledge what motivates them  Small tip for the future.
bb, and have a nice day!

Zeneren (mateuszpachnik) this is usually a result of the country you’re in having weird laws that make it difficult or impossible to provide the promotion. Instead of raging at games, rage at your politicians.

I’m in the US, and can’t participate because it’s illegal to give a prize worth $5,000 or more to someone in Florida unless you purchase a bond and go through a lot of legal hoops in advance of the contest. Imagine doing that not just for several states, but hundreds of countries. Most companies just don’t bother.

Ask your politicians to remove the restrictions that make it difficult to extend contests to your country.

My country of residence is Poland, and as an owner of this game i am a not valid player for this contest.
Talking about paying customer equality….
Seriously Zenimax?
I paid for the game as every other player of ESO and yet i am excluded from this contest.
It is called FAIL on your part Zenimax.
ps. I am starting to doubt, will i ever log into this game again.

With the number of players they have, its far better odds than winning a real lottery!

shadowblender You mean a cheating/hacking competition? Because with a million dollars at stake, that’s exactly what you’ll get.
