Play Elder Scrolls Online for free this weekend (unless you have a PS4)

If you’re one of those MMO gamers who have yet to pick up Elder Scrolls Online but are interested in perhaps trying it out some day, then ZeniMax has made your plans for this weekend.

From December 10th through the wee hours of the 14th, Elder Scrolls Online will be available to play for free even if you haven’t bought the game. While Xbox One players shouldn’t have any problem getting into the free weekend, PC accounts will need a code that’s available in limited quantities from certain websites.

ZeniMax said that it’s not offering a free weekend for PlayStation 4 accounts due to technical issues but hopes to have one in the future. The studio is currently offering ESO at 60% off and is incentivizing players with a $1M giveaway contest and discounts on store currency.

jonny_sage Zariarn They also made tutorial island optional.  You’re basically dropped off in the major city and given the option to explore on your own.  It made it less linear.

Tamanous Armsbend Narayan Well they have recently become slightly more aggressive with the cash shop. That popup on login that you can’t disable certainly makes the game feel more like a F2P title.

played the beta, then just got it on black friday and so far got to lvl 12

has to be one of the worst mmos i have played (sorry for the fans of the game)

Quests: terrible , very boring and very poor voice acting , did a quest the other day and had to pay 15g to finish the quest…and the story is pretty terrible

Graphics: not great, not terrible but not great armor looks horrible

classes: pretty bland, very flexable but so far all my abilites are pretty boring and not many of them in general, but you can wear any armor and wield any weapon which is cool

Have not touched end game (again only lvl12) so can not comment on that, grouping seems blahh and the zones are pretty boring and uneventful

Leilonii I love my PC, but…a true gamer plays on any and all devices ;D  I’m really enjoying certain games on my consoles more than I do on my PC, like Just Cause 3, Uncharted Collection and so on.  But anyway….

Sorenthaz GW2 went this route and it didnt seem a big deal.  Hell Destiny and Elite kind of did it backwards.  Buy the expansion get the old game kinda free.  New trend I guess.  Seems better than the old trend honestly.
