Tree of Savior kicks off open beta in Korea on December 17th

Wow. Such test. Very open.

Let’s say you have a friend named Trab. You think that Trab would really like Tree of Savior, but he won’t listen to you talk about it. Every time you try to mention it, he flings a can of moustache wax at your face and proudly declares that he doesn’t remember the name of any game not in open testing in Korea.

Trab is a terrible friend. But at least on December 17th, he’ll have to listen to you, because that’s when Tree of Savior is hitting open testing.

Along with the generally open nature of an open beta, the new phase of testing brings a level cap of 280, several new jobs for sufficiently advanced players, new starting areas, new quests, and all sorts of other new bits and bobs to explore. You can check out a trailer for the open beta just below.

This game was almost torture to put down and stop playing. I had to stop otherwise I’d have spoiled everything for OB / Launch…and lost a ton of sleep.

Mitzruti I feel like there has to be a way for Templar’s to “sell” their guild creation skills to other players. Wouldn’t make any sense otherwise to implement this kind of system.

Same as spell scroll selling and such or weapon repairs on field from their respective class and skills..

Would getting into the OB from over in the states be feasible or too much of a headache without an english patch/locking?

Very excited for this one! : D

Played Rangarok Online for goodness knows how long (4+ years) and I can’t wait to get into Tree of Savior even if it isn’t a true successor. The music is fantastic and I love the variety of different classes.

a couple vaguely related notes that people might care about~

regarding templar and guilds:
you must be a templar to make a guild. you talk to the templar class dood and hand him 10m silver and bam you’ve got a guild.
you retain the guild master privileges on all of your characters, so you can have a squire-templar alt that just chills by your guild tower.
joining a guild is on a per-account basis, not per-character.

templar skills are mostly non-combat. the only combat related skill is a buff that only affect guild members.
I’m under the impression that the templar class change quest is to be the leader of a group of 5 for 5 minutes.
not sure how to feel about this – it is pretty cool, but means any guild leader is forced to get a rank7  swordie before they can actually have a guild.

regarding shinobi:
it seems to be a hidden class – while no info on people actually getting it has surfaced, they have found several items with “for shinobi hidden quest” in their descriptions on kTest.

If he’s flinging moustache wax at your face, then the only reasonable response is to grow a totally badass moustache. Then when he throws the moustache wax at your face you can be like “Thanks bro for helpin’ me keep it real. You a true friend my man.”

Oh and I guess ToS looks cool too.

Damonvile you can be a druid and shapeshift into a tree monster and then rescue people in distress. or you can make disco grass that kills people.

…but I’m pretty sure the name of the game refers to an event where a giant tree attacked orsha. I’m not clear on the details of the event, but the NPCs keep mentioning it.
