WildStar is merging its PvE servers back together today

A few weeks ago, Carbine merged WildStar’s post-F2P servers back with their originals. Now it’s PvE’s turn.

The studio announced on Twitter yesterday that the PvE shards will be reunited today. “On Wednesday, December 9th starting at 4:00 a.m. PST, all servers will be down for regular weekly maintenance for approximately 2 hours,” Carbine posted. “During this time Entity, Entity-2, Jabbit, and Jabbit-2 players on each set of servers will be brought back together.”

The merges come in time for two big WildStar events: the Ship Chase on that begins today and the Winterfest Extravaganza on December 16th.

Its a bit of a shame . I have just got to 50 on the EU pvp server and its just the kind of game I have been looking for but the population seems to be so low I am not sure if its going to be worth continuing . I’ve tried several times asking in global chat over the last few days if any guilds are recruiting ( at peak times ) only to get no response at all . The general feeling I am getting is unless I play on a pve server its not really worth playing Wildstar and its main attraction would be world pvp for me .

Oh well I have had fun this past month so its no big loss . Just will have to wait till something like crowfall comes out .

No photonic based AI has been invented yet. While the date is old, and the movie older and the source material is even older yet…the concept of such a machine is still likely a long, long ways off. Thus I stand correct. :)

Just about every MMO does that. It’s an engine limitation.

You should be fine with that honestly. If you’re having major frame rate issues, you might want to take a look at your computer or drivers. Also at your expectations. If you want to get 100 FPS in Thayd, that’s simply not going to happen.

I’m sorry, Manastu. I’m afraid I can’t let you do that.

This problem is the game side. You can have it running on the Hal 9000 series and it will still likely do that. Something about poor clunky algorithms in calculating multiple player sources.

Off topic question. Does anyone still have issues getting solid frame rates out this game? I’m running i5-4600k, 16 gigs of ram and a GTX970 and I still can’t get smooth frames in the major hubs. I was thinking once this merger goes through it might even compound the problem even further. I never felt this game was optimized very well.

i think they did a good job with the design and plans of these servers. with name allocations being shared between them to make the planned remerges less painful than your average merge.

i still notice the never really apparent before f2p launch megaserver/channels system and think it’s really well done better than any other game as i have only a couple times run into where i logged into or enter a zone with a friend in it and had to use the sync to group button (tho one of those handful of times it was causing us both to insta DC every time until we wiggled the giggawattz and magically finaggled into getting it sorted and on our way). tho that was at the peak of the f2p launch surge crush.
