Path of Exile adds talisman challenge leagues, launches in Brazil

Tomorrow’s 2.1.0 content update in Path of Exile looks to be a doozy — so big, in fact, that it starts off with a full (optional) passive skill reset for players due to all of the balance changes.

The centerpiece of the patch is the new talisman challenge league. In this game mode, players will encounter special mobs that possess talismans (super-charged amulets) that are apparently quite desirable. The league also contains challenges and special locales that require talismans to conquer.

The patch is bringing out several additional skills, new support gems, more unique items, the ability to bring out two pets at once, and so, so much more. It also marks the official launch of Path of Exile in Brazil with full support for Brazilian Portuguese. The devs have a preview of the patch notes up for anyone wanting to dive in to all of the juicy details.

I hate having to re-spend all of my higher level character’s passive skill points over again on their giant mess of a passive skill tree every time they change something.  At least it says “Optional” passive reset this time so hopefully I won’t log on again to find that I need to re-spend every single point again.

I sort of understand if they change the placement of where things go but it’s rough especially when you don’t play a while and then return, trying to remember everything and have to re-spend a ton of skill points over this huge mass of a galaxy of passive skills.

I’m sure some people are happy with it, it lets them try different stuff for their borked up characters, but for those of us that spent right the first time it’s not really fun to have our skills reset.

Anyway as I said I see it says “Optional” this time so I shouldn’t really be complaining I guess, it just made me think of how much I dislike when they do passive skill resets there :D

DugFromTheEarth Well this update did change the Shadow area of the passive tree quite a bit, rework poison into its own mechanic, and is delivering new skill gems oriented around chaos damage. While its not Acendancy, it seems to have some interesting new toys in it.

At first I was ready to be excited and jump back into the game

Then I realized, “This isnt the patch im looking for”

Im waiting for the next big “Expansion” patch, that looks to add and change gameplay in PoE (especially end game) quite a bit. That should breathe new life into the game for me, challenge leagues alone dont really do this enough anymore.

One hopes they keep the Brazilians on a separate server.

Dystopiq It’s not that bad, really. Offering a option makes most brazillians stick with Br servers. Only the community minded go to US/worldly servers.
Happened in Smite. I’m still on the US servers, because i simply don’t like some of my countrysmen behaviour, but it’s not like i can make iron nails from wooden thorns.
Brazilians are mostly a inconvenience than anything else. People blow it out of proportion.
