Rokh offers a persistent multiplayer survival sandbox set on Mars

If H1Z1’s zombies and ARK: Survival Evolved’s dinos aren’t your kind of survival sandbox, how about one set on the planet Mars?

Darewise Entertainment and Nvizzio Creations announced new “Martian multiplayer survival game” Rokh today, surely setting a new standard for the most specific subgenre name ever. But it actually sounds nifty.

Rokh is a futuristic sandbox survival experience, deeply rooted in scientific and authentic anticipation, where players will have to work together to overcome the numerous challenges they will face on planet Mars. It is a persistent multiplayer game where everything proceeds from simulation and systems interaction instead of classic script-based interactions. In the game, the only resources players have against hunger, thirst, the lack of atmosphere and radiation are creativity and cooperation.

Rokh brings an extensive crafting system – including housing, chemistry, programming, and robotics. To promote real social and economic dynamics between the colonists, these systems are designed to be impossible to be mastered by a single player. The game will be powered by Unreal Engine 4 and will simulate dynamic weather, radiation spreads as well as differences in atmospheric pressure.

You can check out the teaser trailer below.

McSleaz RokhOfficial As someone who gets ganked, I have to disagree. Some of us enjoy watching our backs. We may not enjoy dying, but killing the ganker when at a disadvantage or having friends nearby who immediately avenge you is awesome.

RokhOfficial  There is NO SUCH THING as “open pvp” & “Fun for everyone” in the same game. No matter what lies you tell yourself, open pvp = Gankfest = only fun for gankers.

MostlysaneUK RokhOfficial I feel what you are saying, I think that’s everyone’s biggest concern at the moment and i fully personally understand how bad a generic Gankfest can be. All I can tell you is this: we will be looking to make the game as fun as possible and we are fully aware of all the concerns gamers have, words may change, feelings may change but we look to create a fun experience for all of you

Is this multiplayer or MMO?

Gylnne MostlysaneUK Agreed. It’s an easy way out.  No need to spend the time developing original content or an NPC AI that will challenge.  Just let the brats provide the challenge as they set out to ruin other peoples fun.
They’re opting to move into what seems to me like a very crowded game space with several PVP sandbox releases either out or coming soon.  I’m not sure how they will compete successfully against the established games and big corporation releases.  As a small game company, they need to differentiate themselves with game content and mechanics.

RokhOfficial Why on Earth (Mars) would you ruin the concept of what could be a very original and very interesting game with open world pvp.  You have endless opportunities for a game based on cooperation. Your trailer is about people working together to survive. But instead you just kill all interest in the game with one sentence on your website.  Sandbox does not have to equal open world pvp.
Show some originality and thought with your game design  and provide content that requires skill to complete and is not just dependant on your ability to dodgy bored kids who like to spoil other peoples fun.
I would love to play a game like this, it’s been a long time coming but wont touch it with a barge pole while you insist on making it a gankfest.
