H1Z1 gets comfortable with food

What does H1Z1 and The Sims have in common? Other than being gruesome torture boxes for innocent video game characters, both games are focused on maintaining the minute-by-minute needs of a human body.

In fact, H1Z1 is adding a fifth stat to its roster of body needs: comfort. In a new developer diary, Daybreak explains that keeping comfort high is quite helpful with both health and stamina recovery.

Comfort can be boosted by hanging out at a campfire, eating food, and drinking. By rasing comfort over certain thresholds, players ensure both stamina and health regeneration get a helpful boost (up to 10%).

agemyth Pepperzine BS when was this? We been asking for more zombies forever. I follow this game on reddit and here. Never seen an update where there was a zombie rate that felt like an actual survival game. More zombies is what we have been asking for since this game came out.

agemyth Pepperzine  That is one of my biggest gripes with the game.  There is not enough zombies, and it is supposed to be a zombie mmo. With just the beginner bow and a small stockpile of arrows you are pretty safe when it comes to the zombie threat.  If you don’t need other players help to survive against the zombies there is no good reason to not act defensively and kill them on sight.  Another player who is a stranger to you offers nothing of real value (except possibly the supplies they are carrying) but contains a massive amount of danger as they could kill you and just take all of your stuff.

That’s not to say I disagree with them killing me on sight, because that’s exactly what I do.  Half the time, I don’t even want/need their supplies and leave most, if not all, of it on the ground.  They’re just too dangerous to leave roaming around in the general area of where I am salvaging.  If there were a ton of zombies that were actually a threat though, it could be advantageous to try to socialize with them.

Good update, H1Z1. Now you need to pump out things like this 2 or 3 times a month to get on par with the competition.

Pepperzine Every time they increase the zombie spawns their community explodes and says there are too many zombies :P

Hey Massively. H1Z1 raised over $150,000 for the No Kid Hungry charity off of Showdown skin sales. Maybe you should do an article or a news tidbit whenever H1Z1 shows up in the news feed.

Happy they are focusing on more survival oriented features.  Hopefully they stay aimed in that direction and focus on survival instead of BR for a bit.
