I don't think the bnright side is what you think the bright side is.

People who were hoping for Gigantic to hit full retail release some time this year are no doubt a wee bit disappointed that the game is delaying its launch after a round of layoffs. A new post on the official site goes into more detail regarding the layoffs and the launch schedule. The short version? The shift to Windows 10 and Xbox One cross-platform integration delayed development, meaning that hard choices had to be made regarding the number of people still on staff.

The current plan is to release a new beta build in early 2016 which will mark the first iteration of the game as a cross-platform application, along with a new map and new balance changes for the title’s iconic Guardians. Another new map is also planned for 2016 as development continues. The development team also took to Reddit to answer more specific player questions, which serves as something to chew on before the game’s next major beta patch in 2016.
