Project Genom turns on open world system

There are those moments in MMO game development when titles go from being a limited series of features to an integrated, expansive world. For Project Genom that moment has come, as the early access game has activated its open world.

According to the studio, this means that the game now has a seamless world, allowing players to explore without feeling hemmed in by loading screens and artificial boundaries.

The update also includes a new leveling system that, and we quote here, “is based on the changes of your character’s internal organs.” Do you want real guts, synthetic pipes, or mutated DNA? All are an option in this game! No matter what squishy internal progression system that players choose, they’ll need to watch out for diseases that can wreck havoc on those organs.
