A special message of thanks from the EverQuest and EverQuest II teams

Questing ever onward.

The year 2015 will go down in memory as a tumultuous time to be a fan of EverQuest and EverQuest II. Even disregarding all of the updates that the games themselves had, you can’t distance the titles from the ballyhoo around Daybreak Games and the long radio silence surrounding EverQuest Next. So it seems apropos that the teams behind both of the games took the time to just send a simple message to fans: “Thank you.”

Yes, that’s it. No big announcements, no reveals, no looking forward, just a “thank you” to dedicated players and community members. And that’s pretty great in and of itself.

And at the very least, maybe they’ll take your mind off the DDoS attacks Daybreak’s games have been suffering over the holiday.

There are two videos down below, one for each game. Enjoy!

The naysayer in me says “it’s their way of producing *something* new to release for the holiday season without having to create anything playable”.  But watching these still made me smile.  Go figure.

Dystopiq Any playtests weren’t of a finished game, tho’. It’s only a few months since they said they were creating the game’s first city.

Their continued silence on the game isn’t doing anyone any favours, least of all them.

It reads more like hey thanks for 16 years of your money and wait for our letter of closure to me.

That’s pretty cool.  Glad to see something like this.  Thanks Eliot!

I’m relatively new to EQ2 but already love the game. Really enjoying the new expansion and Time-locked Server since I missed it first time round. Thank you devs and a happy new year! :)

Was that like the entire team of EQ?  It was like 5 people.  I mean I knew they had a skeleton crew, but daym.  Hope they keep the lights on. I still play EQ.

My tinfoil hat prediction was they scrap the MMO and make a 3rd person MOBA

Dystopiq Even just a “we exist” would be something at this point.
