MMO Year in Review: Star Citizen’s triumph (December 2015)

63

This year, we’re taking a time-machine back through our MMO coverage, month by month, to hit the highlights and frame our journey before we head into 2016.

December has been a surprisingly busy month in spite of the holidays, and rising to the occasion was Star Citizen, which launched its 2.0 alpha, passed the $100 million mark, and offered up trailer for its procedurally generated planet system that surprised even its stalwart supporters.

Meanwhile, Camelot Unchained revealed its crafting, Elder Scrolls Online and Firefall dealt with financial issues, and The Repopulation’s Hero Engine saga came to a head. Here’s a look at all the top MMORPG stories of December in our last Year in Review entry for 2015.

Trying to make it sound as if you were there and saw it does not make it true.
And even if you were, we have no way to know that you were or that what you say is true
If you are going to make accusations you need to have proof.
So the question is, do you have proof or a source that proves this?
And I mean a credible source, not the self proclaimed internet warlord.

Out of Smiggins it will be, “Wait, people still play Star Citizen?” I’ll bet you a box of donuts in pink icing on that one. <3

Paldren Roughrider We pulled Digital Anvil’s monthly dismemberment schedule because EVERY SINGLE TIME we spoke with or emailed CR we came to the conclusion that we would be sending checks for the next 9 years. It was kind of a running joke at MGD.

They hate reality and the truth that Star Citizen is going well and will come out.
Anything good about Star Citizen and they are stomping around in their Buster Browns having a tantrum because Star Citizen fails to fail because they said so.

Gibs GTA V spent $137M on Development and spent 5 years making its game with 1000+ employees put on the task. We are 3 years into development of Star Citizen who didn’t start with its $100M and just now has reached 300 employees globally.
