Do you want to know how much pee is on your money? The Division is here to help you find out.
Cash Contagion, a new alternate reality game for Ubisoft’s upcoming sci-fi title, asks visitors to the site to either scan an European banknote or enter in the code to find out approximately how far it’s traveled, how many traces of drugs it probably has on it, and naturally, whether urine is detected or not. The point, other than to totally gross you out, is to show how much bacteria passes hands every day and could potentially help spread a nasty contagion like the fictional one in The Division.
Don’t believe us that this is real? We have the video proof of this ARG for you after the break.

Going to assume all this does is read the code to determine when it was printed and then uses statistics to determine the rest based on how long it’s been in circulation….that or else it just has an algorithm triggered by the code (so it’s the same every time for each note) that gives you made up results.
That is a really great theme for a storyline! Although I am sure that the “results” are not very accurate, I guess it still tries to drive home the point.
Euros in London?
Great, won’t be showing this to my gf. She’s got ocd…
zenaphex I think you should send those dangerous Euros my way. Since I originate from the source, It’ll be in very good hands :)
A lot of us based in the UK already know there are tons of traces of coke on bank notes. Anyhow, I still tried it.Â
*Shrug*
Felt like a gimmick when the substance analysis stuff kicked in – Mainly because money changes hands so often, and can stay outside of any substance checks, that an estimation of whether your note has been used for one line of coke as opposed to it being buried in a pile of coke makes the whole thing pointless. (IE: If I ran around London now, dabbing my £10 note in drugs and piss – my note is instantly inaccurate until whoever does the checks gets my £10 note which could be quite a while)…Â
I dunno…am I missing something here guys?
PS: I used a £10 note, and got pretty much the same as this guy. (16,008, with all other substances as low)
No need. If I were foolish enough to give them my money, that’d be dirty enough.
Why is there so much hate for a game that is not even out yet? In any case what I want to know is if they’ll make launch. It’s starting to get close to the go no go date.
It is a well known fact that Donald Trump wipes his ass with one-hundred-dollar bills.
