It’s a good time to be a Diablo III player, particularly now that Blizzard is on the verge of releasing the much-anticipated Patch 2.4.0 to the game servers.

The studio has been pumping up its fans for the patch release and start of Season 5 on January 15th, and this week it released the PTR notes for this update. Patch 2.4.0 includes the new zone of Greyhollow Island, set dungeons, empowered rifts, two expanded zones, additional legendaries, and more stash space. When Season 5 hits, PC gamers will get to enjoy the new season rebirth feature as well as some revisions to the overall system.

I think pinball requires a certain type of person to enjoy. I don’t like it either but admittedly I suck at it, lol.
I used to like D3 a whole lot, up until fairly recently actually. I quit at around p-level 500, since I hadn’t had any any viable gear upgrades since around lvl 300 and tired of wasting resources on RNG.
Now, the gameplay itself is sublime, no doubt. But don’t you find it at least slightly unsettling that after over four years of development, the entire end-game remains so shallow? And that instead of making legendaries more rare and interesting, the dev team just tosses more of them into the game, 99% of which will become Souls to be flushed down the reforge drain?

cheesybites76 Yeah I don’t enjoy Pinball because it just isn’t fun for me. I do not however go into a post that is talking about pinball and just talk about how I dislike a portion of the game that makes up arguably 70% of the whole point of the game.

Sorenthaz Koshelkin Didn’t they say at the most recent Blizzcon that they weren’t doing any further expansions for the game? Just smaller content updates through patches.
I’d expect them to save the story continuance for a D4 in another 5-10 years.

DugFromTheEarth Joseph C Reihen Yup. Path of Exile is also far superior to Diablo 3 in the world and story department.
Really, Blizzard is now scraping the bottom of the barrel when it comes to lore and immersion and storytelling. They only thing they do right is produce some really gorgeous cutscenes. But that doesn’t count for much when the story those cutscenes are telling is Saturday-morning cartoon faire.
