The Division’s DLC is definitely coming out for the Xbox One first

Which is good, because we have to justify that Xbox One purchase somehow.

Back at E3 2014, future players were told that The Division would release DLC as timed exclusives for the Xbox One. Of course, back at E3 2014 we were told that the game would be released in late 2015, and nothing has been said about timed console exclusives in the interium. But banners are now going up at Gamestop stores boasting that you get The Division‘s content first on Xbox One, so that plan has apparently not changed at all.

Is that a bad thing? It depends on whether you’re playing the game on an Xbox One or not, although much of the sting will depend on how long the exclusivity lasts – fan reaction will be different if it’s a month or a week, for example. It’s all arbitrary speculation now, as the game hasn’t even launched yet, but it is something to anticipate for the future.

I happen to have all the DLC, I just walk outside and boy. I even read about this “dark zone” in the paper with people getting slashed randomly lately.

Game announces release date: “This is going to be rushed and poorly handled.”
Game announces delay to provide a better experience: “This is crap. They said it would come out earlier.”

Was more upset to learn of the gender-locked Sniper…exclusive to the Wii-U.

Ultimately, I’m not a fan of exclusive or timed content, not if the game itself is not exclusive to a particular console. You’re punishing a section of your own fan base because you’re getting thrown a little cash to do so. I wish people on consoles that receive the crap end of this stuff would vote with their wallets, but unfortunately we’ve shown them we’ll still eat it up anyway.

Greaterdivinity deekay_zero You say that as though Sony isn’t also purchasing exclusivity as well, like early Call of Duty DLC and year long Destiny content rights.

‘Being behind’ has no bearing at all. They’ve both been doing this going on a decade now. Microsoft could drown Sony entirely if gaining marketshare was their driving goal, because they could dump Sony’s entire asset total and still be worth more than twice what Sony is.

Silentcrypt I play on PC now for mods, but the only issue I had on Xbox One through a couple hundred hours of play time was saves corrupting, but it turned out that was because I wasn’t quitting the game before shutting down the Xbox. Once I did that, that problem went away as well.

As to the graphics, I run a 980ti, and I can tell you that how Fallout 4 looks on the Xbox One is really pretty much just how it looks. The only major difference on the PC with max settings is I get a little more view distance, and sun rays are more obnoxious. Without modding, most of the textures on the PC are a HUGE vram hog, yet they still look like shit.

I did have the game crash once, after about 6 solid hours at a sitting. I’ve certainly never had an issue with having to wait yet more after loading into an area. I’m not sure what would cause all of the issues you’re having with the same hardware – the only notable difference with mine might be that I’m running an external USB3 SSD.

As someone who has a PC, PS4, and Xbox one I can honestly say I will not be purchasing ANY game on the xbox one ever again, unless it’s an exclusive.  I bought Fallout 4 for my xbox one because my PS4’s hard drive was getting a bit full and I heard xbox one was getting modding and dlc before PS4, biggest mistake ever.  The game consistently crashed, save files were being corrupted, graphics were piss poor, and after every loading screen I had to sit through an additional loading screen (By that I mean after I loaded up in a zone I’d be stuck and unable to move for a few minutes until the game actually loaded).  As I was playing Fallout 4 on my xbox one my little brother bought it for his PS4, and has had absolutely no problems whatsoever.  The game loads up as it’s supposed to, his game files do not get corrupted for no apparent reason, the game has never once crashed, and the graphics are gorgeous in comparison.
Long story short Xbox is a pos if you are getting Division get it for PS4 or PC no matter if xbox is getting content first or even if it’s getting content exclusives.  The limitations of the xbox one is simply not worth it.
