Testing for Landmark’s next update is currently underway

I did a thing, now give me my stat boost.

No, Daybreak hasn’t abandoned Landmark: Producer Terry Michaels tweeted yesterday evening that the team has sent the next update to the QA server and is still sorting out the timeline.

And the hecklers in the Twitter audience demanding EverQuest Next-specific news? They’re going unanswered.

In other good news for the studio, the Visa saga of developer Emily “Pentapod” Domino is almost over. Sorry, Canada, but we need her for important video game business down here.

Silverlock Haha! Yes, this game was extremely unoptimized. I haven’t played it in several months, so I can’t say if it’s improved at all, but when they introduced that thing they had the nerve to call “combat”, I quit playing. I’ve watched a couple of their twitch streams since I quit and have seen zero new stuff beyond more cheesy props.

This was the worst $99 ever spent.

I should fire this up and take a look it’s been a long time. Does the game still have the worse LOD engine in all of computer gaming history?

Saerain This is really very contrary to what SOE said when they announced EQN. I believe they actually said something like “We won’t be like other MMOs where we announce and disappear for years (I think they made fun of Guild Wars 2 here). We will keep you in the loop throughout development!” They put up a site with a bunch of polls and stuff but it never really went anywhere. If they want to have a closed development like most MMOs, they need to pay us what they owe(some damn info) and tell us that we won’t hear back from them in a while.

With all that has happened with SOE, Daybreak, Smedley, Georgeson and Storybricks – I feel like EQN will be a 4 player co-op game like Fable Legends.

wolfyseyes Exactly. They really need to come out and say that this is what they are doing. They are causing pointless concern.

Sorenthaz SallyBowls1 Some of the extra people put on EQN were taken away again, such as Emily Taylor who went back to EQ2 for example.

I’m clueless as to what’s going on with this project, as everyone else is. Why they think it makes good business sense not to communicate with their backers, subscribers, and all other customers and interested parties, not forgetting the media, is a total mystery to me.

I’m inclined to agree. The way you make a games like this would seem to be “head down and do it”. Thing is, though, we don’t have even a little whiff or assurance that something is happening.
