The Division plans three paid season pass expansions alongside free updates

It's beginning to look a lot like QA should have been called earlier.

Adding further hype to the multi-platform beta tests kicking off this weekend, Ubisoft has opened up on the company blog about The Division’s post-launch plans. The studio is currently plotting three paid expansions as part of the game’s season pass; they’ll boast new content, gear, and gameplay for endgamers. Says Ubisoft,

“The first expansion, called ‘Underground’, lets a squad of four players explore new territory in a post-epidemic New York City underworld. In the second expansion, called ‘Survival’, players will have to try to survive in a hostile environment that will challenge even the most hardcore Division players. The third and final expansion is (perhaps fittingly) titled ‘Last Stand’.

If you hit the streets of The Division’s New York on launch day with the Season Pass, you’ll get some goodies too, including an exclusive sawed-off shotgun as well as new outfits and weapon skins. Season Pass owners also get monthly perks in the form of exclusive content drops and events.”

Freebie content is also planned throughout the year, built around “new game modes, featuring cooperative challenges that reward your squad’s ability to successfully work together.”

Siphaed Considering that they have only added one mission and no content other than a little bit of DZ it is hard to judge replay value at the moment.

davidemo89 captainzor Totally wrong dude I think you need to do your research before you post. I have seen plenty of players in the PvE section of the world who are not in my party. Same goes for the DZ too otherwise there would be no PvP. It is instanced in some respect, almost like how GTA:V Online works.

scratches16 Do you know this game will not be supported like others mmo (PS2, GW2…) but they will work on it only for ONE YEAR after release and then they will see how it is going?
And it’s not a secret, Ubisoft told this to anyone.

Nordavind DugFromTheEarth Even with UPlay they didn’t have this kind of feature for the Assassin’s Creed or Farcry multiplayer stuff, so don’t expect it for this game.

Does this game want to be a co-op PvE shooter or a PvP lobby game? I wish it would settle and excel at one or the other…

PizzaDoh scratches16 I’m not mad at DLC — it’s expected and welcomed in my world, more often than not. But it’s the timing and the presumed scope, as I said. It paints a very different picture of what the game is going to be 6-, 9-, 12-months down the road.

Gottphoenix scratches16 Probably because I knew better than to play WatchDogs or any Assassins Creed games beyond 2. Probably because I had faith that Red Storm and Massive wouldn’t totally fuck it up. Probably because I just plain liked the game’s concept and the gameplay looks fun (god forbid). Pick your poison.
Why I pre-ordered the game is irrelevant either way. Thanks for being an ass.
