As RIFT approaches its fifth birthday this spring, Executive Producer Chris Junior revealed many exciting changes and improvements that are coming to the game.

The fun begins with the next major update, Patch 3.6, which is being released half in April and half in May. The update will contain new souls for all callings, a beefed-up anniversary event, a daily login reward system, PvP improvements, and a new intrepid instant adventure. Junior said that 2016 also will be “the year of tech” for RIFT, as game engineers are working on true multicore support and converting the MMO to a 64-bit client.

“We’re making a few changes to ensure that RIFT’s next five years are as full of amazing developments and breathtaking content as the first five,” he posted. “We’ll continue to evolve and change in this area, finding exciting and fair ways to reward those who support RIFT for all of us to enjoy. It’s a tough balance, but it’s a task we never take lightly. We’ll continue to listen to feedback and find ways to address your concerns when we do make changes, so that together we make RIFT as healthy and successful as it deserves.”
