WRUP: The costumer’s lament

Light it up.

With all of the antics that have gone on in my life over the last week alone, I somehow forgot that my random alliance crates in Star Wars: The Old Republic yielded exactly the chestpiece I wanted for my main. Her outfit is exactly where I want it to be, aside from possibly playing with colors over the next few forevers. Meanwhile, the next patch for Final Fantasy XIV includes a bunch of new costume options, so I’m going to have to decide whether or not those mess with my existing outfits…

This is the peril of playing games and focusing upon costuming. When you do so, you wind up focusing chiefly upon, well, costumes. Playing dress-up. Looking pretty. It’s fun and all, but you wind up forever in a state of style shock. Is that what you’re going to be playing this weekend, a fantasy version of America’s Next Top Model? Because you can let us know in this week’s installment of What Are You Playing. Seriously, we’d love to know.

Andrew Ross (@dengarsw): Sorry MJ, still no ARK: Survival Evolved! Maybe the next Steam sale. Since it’s V-Day weekend, my time is a bit limited, so I’ve only done some Hearthstone and a special someone’s favorite board game in digital form (Japanese places are small, so space is a premium). Maybe I’ll finally get in some HEX, as my time with Spellweaver reminded me how I miss certain aspects of CCGs and MMOs Hearthstone doesn’t always satisfy.

Brianna Royce (@nbrianna, blog): I’m actually thinking about some Marvel Heroes this weekend. I tried Devilian this week also; maybe I’ll be giving that another try too!

Eliot Lefebvre (@Eliot_Lefebvre, blog): Nothing too far from the usual – some roleplaying and play in Final Fantasy XIV and Star Wars: The Old Republic, more testing in World of Warcraft‘s expansion alpha. Also hopefully not being sick, that’d be keen.

Justin Olivetti (@Sypster, blog): While I’m feeling the itch to explore some other titles to see if I can find a nice casual (and traditional) MMO to satisfy me, I’ll probably be trucking along in both The Secret World‘s Egypt and Final Fantasy XIV‘s storyline. At least I’m getting fed a lot of yummy narrative!

Matt Daniel (@Matt_DanielMVOP): I will, of course, be playing some more Blade & Soul for my continuing Choose My Adventure series, but aside from that, I’m not sure I’ll have a whole hell of a lot of gaming time this weekend. But if I do, I think I’d like to jump back into FFXIV. It’s been a while since I’ve played, and for whatever reason, I’ve recently been itching to get back in and continue where I left off, which I think was in the middle of leveling my crafting professions.

MJ Guthrie (@MJ_Guthrie, blog): ARK, ARK, and more ARK. Then maybe some ARK. And when I am all done with that, I will throw in a little ARK. I have a new project that has me fired up!

Patreon supporter Pierre: Please don’t make me lose my time with your futilities of gaming plans for the weekend, I’m defending Earth, guys! There’s an ongoing alien invasion these days, don’t you know? And these aliens’ plans are really really nasty ones… OK, I admit it, I made another mistake after Darkest Dungeon (still playing that one by the way): I started XCOM 2. What an amazing game, an excellent mix of tactical gameplay and playing dolls with your troops. With all the hours lost in those two solo games, there’s no room left for MMOs. Sorry The Elder Scrolls Online, I still think about you, but my heart beats for another today. Enjoy the weekend MOP readers.

Patreon supporter thatchefdude: This weekend I’ll be doing some lovey-dovey gaming with the wife, so plenty of Super Mario Maker and other Wii U titles, and a bit of joint crafting and gathering in FFXIV. Happy V-day everyone!

Your turn!
