Destiny Mega Bloks, event compensation, and leveling shenanigans

Howsabout a Destiny news threesome this afternoon?

First, Bungie is teaming up with Mega Bloks for a series of Destiny toy sets this year. Family Gamer TV has the video scoop.

Second, the studio admits that drop rates during the Crimson Days event have been way lower than intended. “That’s no way to tell you that we love you, so a fix is in the works,” says Bungie, which now promises fixed rewards for everyone at the end of the event.

Finally, Destiny player SerfaBoy has joined the honorable ranks of gamers who break weird records: He leveled up to 40 without ever leaving the tutorial, a feat that took 98 hours of boring repetition.

Last week, Activision casually mentioned that Destiny is getting a full-fledged sequel in 2017. Vids are below!

Dope_Danny Bungie was a better software developer when they were Microsoft as weird as that seems.

Yeah i saw that content announcement. In a word: desperation.

The entire -whats left of it- Destiny community has, bar the few Bungie invites to their studio to stream of course, were screaming out how the game was dead as a doorknob for the last 3 or 4 months. Its last pve update was Halloween 2015. Theres been lots of rumours of problems in the studio, of shakeups and massive player drop off and all they have done is sparrow racing and added more real money transactions to the game in the process.

They needed to announce something and what do we get? a vague mention of ‘replayability’ and an expansion while Destiny 2 was put back.

Which given Bungies track record with Destiny probably means they are boosting the Year 1 raids up to the Taken King level and cutting the first act of Destiny 2 out to sell as a separate dlc and tide the consumers over.

and sadly enough for many that will be good enough.

To bad this game had so many game breaking problems :(. I wonder who ok’d Destiny’s story…. Like I wonder what was going threw their head when they said ” Ok, I think it is perfect now ” . When really it was just plain boring and horrible. That person should never be aloud to think again. Also I really would like to know who said ” yes I think the pvp is a lot of fun and ready for release.” I have never played such casual, shallow, disconnected pvp…. ever! There is literally no learning curve at all in the game. It takes 30 minutes to learn this game’s combat system and buttons and master it all completely.

This game was such a let down.

Good for the CoD crowd I guess.
