RIFT asks players what they’d like in a brand-new bag

Inventory space is at a premium in RIFT, but that’s always been an issue. The designers are aware of the issue, and they are well aware that something needs to be done, but unfortunately the original solution of moving over to a single big-bag system appears untenable. So the design team members are looking into another solution with specialized bags, and they’re hoping to employ player feedback to make the job just a little bit easier.

The intent is to add much larger bags for sale that can only hold specific types of items, thus storing a large number of those items without taking up space elsewhere. This led to the the poll linked above – the staff wants to see what sort of bags people would find most useful. If you find yourself staggering around RIFT with items figuratively spilling from your arms due to a sheer lack of space, you owe it to yourself to check out the poll and cast your vote.

Are they just trying to keep f2p players from becoming invested in RIFT in some crafty long play plan to make it P2P again? Conspiracies

New Rift slogan! ALL Traps and Tricks! Such a shame!
I played this game from Open Beta, still remember how amazing the game was even with the failed River of Souls event. It was still epic! The Soul Survivor is my fav title and I wear it with pride, but I just can’t comprehend how Rift became the cash grabbing mmo that is now. I had so much respect for Scott Hartsman! He really seemed to be the right guy in the right place. He used to write letters to us and explain things and really TRION was one of the most fan friendly company. I have NO IDEA what happened now. I’d love to hear from Scott. I know he left Trion for a moment there but when he came back, is he even still in charge of things? All of this makes me really sad. I loved Rift, I loved their commercials. “You’re not in Azeroth anymore” add really made me smile and I thought: Damn Trion I really wish you well as a company for at least trying. The game still is such an innovative mmo! But the last few weeks really seem to be the really beginning of the end. Such a shame!

“No pricing has actually been determined but these would probably be for Credits especially since these are a convenience.”
RIFT is so dead for me. Shame.

Of allllll the decisions Trion could have chosen to consult with players about before implementation, they chose this one??? I’m sorry but I have to agree with Ceder here.

The real bag issue(since this one is just another misdirect ploy to find something new to charge for) is Trion pulling another one from their bag of” tricks and traps”.

Enikuo Though, now that they showed they are willing to take from free players, I wouldn’t be surprised if they take something like auto-loot or AoE loot away from free players and make it patron only.

Then free players won’t have to worry about bag space, because they’ll say ***k it, as they get to frustrated trying to loot everything. :P

Hmmm… It seems inventory space does matter after all…
