Hostility and bounty systems arrive in Star Citizen

Are you a law-abiding space citizen who’s not above partaking in some mob vigilante justice? Or are you a sneaky ne’er-do-well who wants to take up a life of crime among the stars? Either avenue is an option for players in Star Citizen, now that Alpha 2.2 has arrived.

The newest patch contains several new systems that work hand-in-hand to create a balance between law and order. Players can accrue criminal levels if they perform illegal activities, with the potential to be so bad that they’ll be marked by the game as a public event. However, by knocking out new monitoring stations, criminals can perform their deeds without punishment. Alternatively, players can work on the side of justice by taking up bounties and pursuing the bad guys.

The alpha patch also includes a flyable Aegis Sabre, improvements to the FPS system, new FPS weapons, a revamp to the party system, and an update to ship components.

But wait, that’s not all! There’s also a new episode of 10 for the Developers, which awaits you after the break.
