The Stream Team: Elite dungeon diving in The Secret World

6

Before you can throw yourself at the mercy of the bosses in The Secret World’s Nightmare Dungeons, you have to prove your mettle by doing all of the main game’s elites and then facing the ultimate golden boy — the Gatekeeper. Some of the crew still have a few of those prerequisite dungeons to run, so MassivelyOP’s MJ is ready to dive in with them and show the bosses who’s really the boss. (Probably not her.) Join us live at 9:00 p.m. to be a part of the epic carnage.

What: The Secret World
Who: MJ Guthrie
When: 9:00 p.m. EST on Thursday, February 25th, 2016

The show is over now, but we’ve embedded it here just for you. Don’t forget to check out past streams and playlists posted to our videos collection!

DJjazzy luxundae I love the TSW dungeons as well! Interesting boss fights, and few trash mobs, most of which can be avoided.

Cambruin Try /chat join #Sanctuary to meet up with other friendly players. Also, I’ve recruited at least two people into my RP cabal after running into them in world and they responded to me in an IC manner at my approach/aid. While most of the RP can be easily found in the taverns, there are groups that RP out in the world, prefer plot-based RP, and prefer ‘realistic’ RP that fits the environment.

Funcom can make some really great instances. Both TSW and AoC have some of the best dungeons I’ve done in an mmo

I suppose most people are hanging in Agartha looking for groups. For the main story zones I like being able to solo quest and enjoy the solitude. Especially on Solomon Island for that lone survivor of a zombie apocalypse feel. If you want to spice up some play with others, before leaving the area I always tried to do the dungeon. Join Sanctuary chat for constant global communication with newbie friendly folks or the new group finder tool. Or a cabal that is willing to run normal level dungeons or invite a friend to play with a free trial key.
Once I found the in-game community it all popped into place.

For some reason I cannot get into it. I’m a RPer and did some research on events and the likes, but from the looks of it it’s basically just standing around in the Horned God pub in London. The community on the forums is great, feedback is superb, but ingame you hardly ever talk to anyone. I’m in Blue Mountains now and haven’t had a single moment where someone acknowledged my existance or where I need tot acknowledge theirs. Everyone just seems to do their thing and move on.
A pity, cause the investigation missions gave me an incredible feeling of accomplishment. That doctors cabinet was pretty straightforward, but nice nonetheless, the fortune teller’s questline, but then the Man in Black Vehicules and the transmission/morse quest. Dear lord, what a joy. I have never before seen such great quest design and interactivity.

Now if only their was an incentive to treat this as an actual MMO rather than a singleplayer game with others running left and right.

I need to actually start trying to do the Secret World dungeons.  In my limited experience, the design is pretty cool and the storylines can be really interesting (I like TSW’s impression of Hell).

Thanks for casting this run, MJ!
