Daum compensates Black Desert players for headstart server mixup

A goof-up on the Black Desert headstart servers over the weekend saw some North American players unintentionally placed on the wrong servers, and Daum decided not to move them.

“[U]nfortunately the characters affected by this will remain on the server they are on currently. If you do not wish to continue playing on that server you will need to make a new character on your preferred server. After our analysis it has been determined that due to the limited number of player impacted versus those not impacted and the amount of time invested, this is the best course of action. To perform a full wipe, or to manually relocate the Serendia characters would simply take too long and would nullify the benefit from the head start period.”

This morning’s maintenance apparently fully resolved the issue, but some players were left marooned and couldn’t reclaim their reserved names and pre-order items upon rerolling or on their oops server. Daum says that it will institute a name-swapping service for the former and that it is still investigating the failed delivery of pre-order items. Affected characters will also be able to claim a compensation package that includes a seven-day dye palette and a stack of buffs.

Spesh Leviathon_lx They don’t really have skimpy outfits in GW or GW2 LOL. They are more covered than majority of MMO’s in this day and age. Yeah there MIGHT be some clevege on some armor and costumes, but most covers the body.

Leviathon_lx Spesh Oh, I always thought the GW games were originally developed as Korean MMOs alongside a US developer. The characters all have that Asian-MMO-look to them, with the skimpy armor and children faces.

Spesh Unless ArenaNet relocated to Korea, GW2 is a Western MMO originating from Seattle.

DugFromTheEarth DavisKrievins Silverlock Xijit It’s terrible. I have the middle preorder, so got access today, and was kinda surprised, in a negative way. Everything is constantly “popping” in the game world. It definitely wasn’t like this in CBT1, when I last played.

Somewhat related, I am one of the loser who bought a package after the pre-order period thinking I would get in. I guess officially it’s my own fault for not reading closer, but I’ve never seen a game pull this. I should have stuck to my guns about waiting on this game.

Xijit Sorenthaz Silverlock ihatevnecks Ah that’s really not too bad.  I can make 2k off of a single fish for the most part (as when I sell my catches I always try to bargain with the trade merchant to pay extra – either due to my Trading skill or getting nice and friendly with the Velia one, I did notice it’s much easier to win that minigame + I get 4 rounds per attempt rather than the standard 3).

Silverlock Sorenthaz Xijit melissaheather Yeah… I didn’t.  Figure with a Tier 5 Horse from Conqueror’s there’s no real rush.  I did manage to hit level 19 and am almost to 20, but still chilling in Velia for the most part.  :p

Silverlock DavisKrievins Xijit The black silhouettes, as far as I can tell, are just NPCs that don’t get their details fully fleshed out until you get closer.  Probably the game’s attempt to try and lower any stress put on the hardware.   Basically it’s akin to other games that do that type of stuff.

SeedEve BettoMendes VPNs are your friends.  At least that’s what I keep hearing when it comes to IP Blocks.
