Final Fantasy XIV takes a look behind the magic of its sound design

Are you a fan of Final Fantasy XIV? Are you not a fan of Final Fantasy XIV while still feeling a great deal of affection for its soundtrack? Do you just like watching videos about sound design? Good news for all of the above groups: There’s a new video just below from the game’s design team, and it’s all about how the game’s sound design comes together.

While part of what makes the game work is the actual soundtrack, there’s just as much work put into the sound effects and ambient noises that contribute to the game’s ambient atmosphere. If sound isn’t really your thing, though, that’s all right; this is just the first in what is planned as an ongoing series of videos detailing how the game is made behind the scenes.
