Being flat and featureless isn’t always a bad thing. For example, if you’re looking to build amazing structures without a lot of hassle from a lumpy and uncooperative environment, finding a large level surface can be an immense blessing.

Landmark is preparing such places with its next update. The team reported that it’s going to add “pioneer landscapes” to the game that will be ideal for building right from the get-go. This new terrain type will also be allocated automatically to new players, ensuring them a claim spot without the land rush that has been typical in the game.

Other changes coming with the patch include increasing and standardizing the size of claims, making underground spaces easier to navigate, and randomized chaos caverns. The team said that this will be a big update with even more features to be announced, and that the patch will not be coming in the first half of March.
