The Culling launches into early access even earlier than promised

Let's just say that no one involved in the making of this picture was a particularly nice person.

Did you see the announcement that The Culling would be launching into early access on March 8th and weep bitter tears because you couldn’t wait that long for a survival sandbox-style game that stripped out any pretense of being anything other than a chance for players to kill one another? That’s a weird thing to weep about. But you also don’t have to be so sad; the game launched into even earlier access on both Steam and the Humble store. It’s out now, if that’s what you want to play!

The developers are aiming for transparency on a whole, with a full rundown of what is planned for early access and where development is moving from this point onward. Two big components of the planned updates are that the game is still lacking options for female characters and hasn’t yet been tested with huge number of players. So you’ll be testing the game and refining it to make it better, but you have to pay for the right to enter first.

Fair warning: The announcement trailer below is on the gory splatter-of-blood side of the equation.

I’d be surprised if this takes off. The target demographic is he kind of person who’d rather gank people trying to PvE than have a stand up fight.

Unfortunately only NA servers for now and games like this are highly dependent on ping too.

It was a smart idea to get it released over the weekend so that it wasn’t completely shadowed by The Division’s launch tonight, which is going to be huge on Twitch with folks like Summit playing it.
The game looks fun and I was contemplating buying it, but I’d rather just play The Division for now and if I really have a FFA last man standing itch I’ll get it at some point.

I played couple of games. The idea is great and fun BUT! The combat is quite ughm robust and needs more tweaking. Especially attacking up close is just annoying. with the blocking and hitting is so sluggish and unresponsive..
