Guild Wars 2 living story news, Salvation Pass video

If you missed the recent Guild Wars 2 AMA on Reddit, then you’ll be happy to see that there’s a handy compilation posted of all of the subjects and questions that ArenaNet tackled.

Naturally, the studio was queried about the future of the game, including the next season of the living world (expect it this summerish), the development of legendary weapons, the upcoming Forsaken Thicket raid wing, and improvements to both PvP and WvW. The team did admit to some stumbles with Heart of Thorns’ difficulty and the nerf to dungeon rewards (“We didn’t need to nerf dungeons like that. But we also don’t have a dungeons team to keep dungeons updates. So that’s the dilemma.”).

ArenaNet posted a behind-the-scenes video discussing the development and layout of the brand new Salvation Pass raid wing. Playing it or simply interested in what went into its creation? The following video might be illuminating!

disUserNameTake Leviathon_lx Midgetsnowman It became clear years ago that ANet was not making a game for me so I’m not exactly playing it much to ‘look for anything’ from the game. I require a PvE endgame and trinity for my enjoyment of an MMO.

paragonlostinspace DugFromTheEarth At least in Black Desert you can all those camera effects off. I turn them off, can’t stand them, make me dizzy.

“most of the community doesnt give a shit if you dont /like/ a lot of whats on offer”

That’s right.  It is like going to a restaurant where you like only one or two dishes and then complaining that you’re bored with the menu.

disUserNameTake Greaterdivinity See, thats the thing though. Quite a lot of MMo players like solo content they can do while talking with their ingame friends. Not everyone appreciates being forced into groups just to please the people who think that everyone should be forced to group with them.

disUserNameTake Leviathon_lx Midgetsnowman the same thing I look for in all MMOs. a lot of great story and soloable content with optional, but fun group content that isnt super-challenging or requiring me to be so hyperconcentrated on my skillset that most people just find ways to cheese via terrain?

disUserNameTake Quincha Midgetsnowman My problem is most of the content on offer has never, and will never appeal to me and the stuff that does (higher level quests and stories and SOLO CONTENT) requires I slog through queensdale /again/

dragonwhimsy dibstaru You say that like people doing raids are interested in content over gear. Most of the problem with GW2′;s group content is the challenge is insaaaaanely over the top for what rewards are on offer, and most people dont fucking do group content for story

dragonwhimsy dibstaru Aetherpath requires way too much coordination for such little rewards.
