If you’ve been waiting to grab yourself a founders pack for the upcoming MOBA Paragon, they are now on sale. Those who purchase packs will be able to access the game’s Early Access season starting this Friday, March 18th, 2016. Each level of packs includes skins, challenges (which will unlock even more skins and even emotes as you level), and discounts on boosts. As a bonus, the two highest packs — priced at $59.99 and $99.99 — also include a bonus founders pack to give a friend. In a different twist, players can also pre-order a physical founders pack, dubbed Paragon: Essentials Edition. This version, which also includes goodies like the others, will hit shelves on June 7th.

I bought a “physical” copy of skyrim when it came out. All that was on the disk was an installer for Steam.

blackcat7k Sorenthaz Because GoW is too limited.  They plan to do new heroes every 3 weeks which includes a huge variety of different things.

Speaking of Gears of War, if they were going to make a MOBA, I was wondering why they didn’t use that franchise as the basis rather than these weird unknown fighters that don’t necessarily have a unifying theme.

blackcat7k Not to mention from the looks of it it looks so slow.   From what I watched, combat was basically just people slowly strafing back and forth as they shoot at each other.  Like it was Gears of War without the cover mechanics.

Watching it on Twitch, the pacing just looks flat-out horrible for a MOBA.
Imagine the slowness of Gears of War’s character movement but without being able to take cover and whatnot.
Now imagine these guys slowly walking around each other while they shoot at one another.
Yeah that’s basically what Paragon’s combat looks like right now.

Caec halldorr Nordavind Maybe I’m splitting hairs here, but Paragon is more LoL than Dota 2 :P To most people that distinction has no meaning though I imagine.
I feel like Paragon could shape up to what I kinda wished Smite would have been.

Epic should probably be peddling this to the console crowd where they would actually have a shot. I thought they wrote us off years ago. Trying to sell founders when that game looks the way it does seems like a bad move. This is an extremely basic MOBA as they come, with the graphics being the main factor, and that card system looking like the exact opposite of what you’d want in a solid MOBA title.

halldorr Nordavind Having watched many hours of streams, I guess it’ll depend on why you haven’t gotten into MOBAs before, because this game is very much still a MOBA, and NOT like how Heroes of the Storm basically stripped everything complex about MOBAs out to create a “casual” friendly version. Basically, it’s far closer to DOTA 2 than it is to HotS.

Graphics looks nice but shooting requires alooooot of work still
