The Black Death demos combat, sickness, and death in new militia trailer

17

The delay of The Black Death’s early access launch from March to April means more trailers on just how the gloomy survival sandbox will operate. Today’s entry focuses on the militia archetype, just the character to choose for a mercenary player who wants to dabble a little in a lot. Follow along as Green Man Loaded demos the class — there’s even a walkthrough of the combat system, sickness system, and death.

Silverlock Robert80 Giggilybits  Yeah, I only addressed the games specifically mentioned/asked about.  Wurm is cool in it’s own way, but I agree with your analysis.  It just goes a little too far.  In many ways it is closer to Life is Feudal… just with more grind to do things and less PvP restrictions.
I also didn’t talk about other games like Ark or Rising World or Xyson or… you get the idea.  :)

CistaCista Giggilybits  That’s not entirely true.  There will be an NPC city, and a few structures in the MMO.  However, it is true for most of the world, and the “Your Own” version.

I have to admit, this does sound interesting, but not immensely fond of the sickness system, since it’s a 100% guarantee that your character will die no matter what over time. It’s basically an aging system where you can somewhat choose the speed of it through actions.

I think perma death is what makes this one work. If you go looking for fights then expect a short play through. It’s nice to see games where gear grinding is the least of your worries.

Robert80 cygnus5 Giggilybits And we must not forget Conan Exiles that is coming in the summer. For now i have decided to jump in the madness of Mortal Online. I didnt stop laughing after seeing  naked guys in  donkeys with bags.

Robert80 Giggilybits lol and yet again poor Wurm online is left out of the discussion. Not that I play it, after spending two hours of effort just to make a wooden mallet I decided that it took realism just a little too far.

Giggilybits First and foremost, Life is Feudal is a survival and terraforming game. There are no structures in the game such as villages or roads, there are no npcs shops or guards. You have to make your own shelters, mines, roads etc.

Wow, this actually looks a lot better than I was originally giving it credit for. I might actually pick this up.
