Star Trek Online previews the new Strategist secondary specialization

Starship captains in Star Trek Online will be able to be just a bit more tactical with the launch of Season 11.5. The interim patch is adding a new secondary specialization, the Strategist, a specialization centered around the Threatening Stance ability added in the game’s skill revamp. Players who take on the specialization can toggle the stance on and off to serve as exceptionally durable tanks or to restore themselves quickly in space engagements.

Three abilities have been previewed thus far. Logistical Support serves as a major health barrier when Threatening Stance is on, while boosting damage when healed once it’s turned off. Show of Force allows you to toggle between an incoming healing bonus and a stacking critical damage buff, while Attrition Warfare boosts your ability speed or boosts your hull regeneration. If you want to be able to take charge of the ebb and flow of the battlefield in a tactical sense, it should give you plenty of options for enhancing your captain’s abilities.
