MJ Guthrie dorn2 spider3 PaganRites  I really tried to like HEX, but for some odd reasons it doesn’t work. Maybe it’s the Cards arts they are not my taste, or the (somewhat) simple gui and sfx. But yes, if somebody is looking for a tcg addiction, hex is probably the way to go, especially because Cards are tradable.

dorn2 spider3 PaganRites Of all of them, I find HEX is the best =P  Very glad it isn’t like the others. It certainly has me playing TCGs now.

dorn2 spider3 PaganRites  Ok, I got your Point now. But there are quite a lot of TCG/CGS with simple mechanics, especially on Android/IOS. On Steam it’s a trendy as well to see a lot of such games. Sadly mostly are going P2W.
Allow me to suggest you once again Spellweaver. IMO it’s what you are looking for, give it a try. Playerbase could not be big as hearthstone, but it definitely deserves Attention.
Hearthstone’s success is also dictacted from the blizzard’s Name. Lot of Blizzard fans who are not in Cards games just tried it out and liked it, simply as that.

I think your confused because you’re trying to suggest a game that exists.  What I said was pretty simple.  A game like Hearthstone with more complicated mechanics.

Number one priority is that the game must be popular with non TCG fans.  Number two priority is that it must be approachable.  Hex is not very popular with normal people.  It also does no-nos like resource cards.

dorn2 spider3 PaganRites  I don’t get what are you looking for.. Labyrinth , like Pox Nora, summons Cards on a 2d/3d battlefield where minions will move over a grid, allowing a great strategy possibilities. Only other Thing I can think, is that you are looking for more action-based..like Hands of Fate for example.

dorn2 Hex and Spellweaver are both great games but check Prismata out if you haven’t already.  Its basically and RTS in card form.  The gameplay is derived from the resource and unit management found in games like Starcraft.  It’s still very much “cards on a table”, but the game play is quite different.  It’s fast paced and each game different.

I feel like a lot of those games are stuck in the concept of “cards on a table”.  Just look at their game clients.  It’s literally a virtual table you place cards on.  It’s inflexible thinking.  People underestimate how huge it is that Hearthstone does not put cards on a table.

There isn’t even a table in Hearthstone.  It’s just this flat surface that you put neat looking tokens on.  Now look at this game.  It doesn’t even have a flat surface!  Both of these games are too simple but they’re still far more INTERESTING.

If someone would combine these approaches with complexity it would be amazing.

Give a try to Spellweaver. IMO it’s the best Card game around nowdays. More complex than hearthstone, and not excessively complicated like Magic/Hex where you Need to put quite a lot of Money to be competitive in high ranks. The F2P Model is VERY fair, good art and devs are listening to user’s Feedback.

Also Keep an eye on Labyrinth, it’s still very EA now, should be ready around June.
