Diablo III begins testing season 6

Have you finished all of your Diablo III season 5 goals and achievements yet? You best get a move on it, little doggy, because season 6 is on its way.

Blizzard began testing season 6 this past week, encouraging fans to check out the new content. While the studio has yet to announce the end date for season 5, the three-month limit means that the season will probably conclude around April 15th. Players will be able to carry their characters over with the new seasonal journey, although each character’s progress will be reset.

Speaking of Diablo III, the game also just celebrated its two-year anniversary of its sole expansion, Reaper of Souls. “The Reaper of Souls expansion overhauled the Diablo III experience,” Blizzard said, “and we couldn’t have come this far without our passionate and amazing community. Thank you for not only your support, but your feedback throughout these two short years.”

aldristavan Yea hoping I don’t have to do two classes of them again to get the Season Stash unlocked for the season Conquests…doing Wizard ones were the most frustrating experience ever but most of those seem addressed.

I got back into D3 last year. Played season 4 for a good bit and then my interest just petered out. Any new content just feels tacked on in an attempt to put new paint on the same hamster wheel. Sure, the cube is new content. But does it really add to the longevity of the game? Does it make you want to do it all over again? It doesn’t for me.
Especially, when I compare this to Path of Exile, which may not be as polished in the graphics department, but every time a major patch is released I get hooked again. And that happens pretty regularly.

This feels more like a season for the sake of it, all the previous ones brought atleast one big change to the meta and new gameplay modes.  This one doesnt yet have any of those announced.

Probably the first season since ROS that I will skip.

Karl_Hungus Sorenthaz fangGWJ Yeah that sounds more realistic.  I’m guessing it might be too much of a hassle to bring the code into the console version.  Maybe they wouldn’t be able to completely control when the seasons start/end, who knows.

DaemonHardrod Sorenthaz It counts towards one of the final seasonal milestone objectives.   Also achievements and basically just saying you did it.

Sorenthaz What do you get if you level to 70 in HC mode?

For me it feels like it’s more than cheating issues. I think it has more to do with some sort of technical issue that Blizz isn’t willing to throw money at to overcome because the console crowd is not nearly as large or consistent as the PC crowd.

Yeah yeah, still slowly trudging to get the remaining three pieces of the Magnum Opus set for my Wizard.    After losing my Witch Doctor, Demon Hunter, and Barbarian on Hardcore mode.  -.-
This has definitely been my most played season so far, but good lord has it been soul-crushing.  Next time I’ll just get a single Hardcore character to 70 for the seasonal achievement junk and then focus on a Normal if it dies.

fangGWJ Sorenthaz Karl_Hungus Eh they did some PR bullshit excuse for it even though the console versions do get the patches that the PC version gets, last I checked.
Found it:
“Some features on console are best designed for that platform, and the same is true for the PC version of the game. A large part of the fun of Seasons is the entire community rerolling heroes together at the same time. Because the offline and disconnected nature of console does not support this style of play,we do not currently have plans to implement Seasons on console.”

That’s straight from the Season 5 FAQ.
