War Thunder’s new sky renders will melt your eyeballs with joy

Considering how much time War Thunder players spend fighting and flying through the skies, having that horizon look as gorgeous as possible is probably more important than in most games. This week, the team announced that it’s instituted tech to make “the best rendition of the sky that has ever been recreated in video games.” Think this is hyperbole? The article on the new rendering said that it’s photorealistic, performs better, and even shows the stars in their proper place at night.

This new sky and cloud rendering is but the start of a host of changes that came with the game’s latest patch. Ground vehicles can now be camouflaged with bushes and scrub and there are two new Japanese aircraft.

You can check out the eye candy of War Thunder’s new sky after the break! And if you’re tired of tanks, how about sailing vessels? Maybe not. But there’s a tongue-in-cheek April Fools’ Day video for that below too!
