80 unusual problems that can be explained by Skyforge’s Alchemist class

11

This week, Skyforge reintroduced the combat Alchemist class with a brand-new class trailer. This is not an April Fools’ joke! The Alchemist is a hybrid class that’s all about unleashing her “army of sentient blobs,” spreading toxic chemicals with her robotic arms, and bubbling allies behind protective membranes. “Alchemists […] are tireless geniuses seemingly devoid of common sense,” says My.com. “Mad, insane, unhinged, ludicrous – those who study Alchemy have been called all of these at one point or another during their career. It matters not, as nothing is of more concern to them than their research.”

The class comes bundled with the Wardens of the Wasteland digital collector’s edition for a cool $41.99 US.

In other Skyforge news, the team has added the promised guild merge token to the market; that’ll run players 6000 Argents or just over a million credits.

Sorenthaz digi_owl WandaClamshuckr Yeah i am really not sure what Obsidian is doing with this project, except being involved in an attempt to give it a pretty face for the press. The people operating the European and NA stuff seems to have zero input on how the game is developed.

digi_owl Sorenthaz WandaClamshuckr That sucks.  Was hoping it’d be better since Obsidian was helping with the writing, but bleh.

Sorenthaz digi_owl WandaClamshuckr Pretty much.
I effectively rage quit the game after having unlocked a new mission. And while trying to take down a mini-boss (had it on the last few bars, iirc) got jumped by some 5-6 “trash” adds.
End result was instant death, respawn, and having the miniboss reset back to full health.
And the game is piles and piles of these kinds of fights. It basically boils down to banging your head against a virtual wall until either you or the wall breaks.

digi_owl WandaClamshuckr Sorenthaz So basically they took a few steps forward from Allods Online, but then decided to take like 10 steps backwards by time gating everything and making stuff stupidly difficult in the wrong ways.

WandaClamshuckr Sorenthaz The problem is not about cash shop, but that everything is time gated. This then result in people having virtually no chance of catching up with those already up top, and the gap widens each week.
Yes they did some changes, but those changes are a drop in the ocean. Because to make use of them you have to grind 1.5 times those that do their routine each day.
This because your limit is not increased automatically, nor is the currency drop rates. You have to run special missions that have a cap increase attached, and then spend replicators on top of that.
And all the highly talked about stuff they keep adding are behind the “godhood” node, so you need to spend months of weekly grindng before you even see any of it.
Oh, and never mind that the mob design is ass backwards.
Thing is you do not heal in game in the traditional sense. You heal by grabbing yellow orbs dropped from bigger mobs as you strip them of health bars.
Problem is that their “trash” mobs do not drop said orbs, while at the same time hit damn hard with their unavoidable attacks (basic attacks can’t be avoided, trash mobs only do basic attacks). End result is that a group of 3+ tash mobs is a whole lot more dangerous that the equivalent group of big mobs.

Oh, and they love using those trash mobs as adds during boss fights. Often from outside of camera view, allowing them to gank you at any moment…

Sorenthaz I was wondering the same, but I don’t think many (if any) people that post here still play it.  I just went to the Skyforge Reddit and did some reading on my own.  In particular, considering Allods, I was wondering how Cash Shop dependent it was.

I’ve liked the idea of an alchemist combat class since Ragnarok Online. Glad to see another MMO has one as well. I don’t know why I like the idea of it, but I do.

How is Skyforge doing?  Kind of feel like it’d be something fun to check out again as I was kinda forced to drop it when my laptop died.
