Scenes from Saga of Lucimia’s alpha

This past Saturday, Saga of Lucimia held an alpha test for people who are not you. We’re trusting that you’re not the game’s developers, at least. At least the team had the foresight to record video of the internal test and used it to piece together a quick tour of the game.

It’s not the most action-packed few minutes you’ll ever watch, but the video does give a face to the game and some sense of its potential. In it, you can see teams roaming around, fighting, visiting taverns, and beating up on poor defenseless pigs and one “spiderbro.”

Saga of Lucimia’s next early access public build will be held on April 30th. You can watch the brief tour through the internal alpha test after the break!

malrats Robert80  Yeah, I like that aspect of it… but I also want alternatives to training it up than just going out and fighting things at that point.  Because nothing is more frustrating than fighting something you should easily beat, rolling low for a solid minute, and dying because of that.

Robert80 malrats Oh, okay. Well, in EQ things got much less ridiculous as your skill went up and the misses/fizzles mostly disappeared, which to me was always something that felt pretty nice.

TWAnderson Robert80  Ah.  Not the worst system ever, but something I have worked on a lot within my own tabletop games because it does get annoying.
Well, depending on how the gear and skill systems work, it could be solid.  I’ll have to see where it goes.

malrats  Oh, I did.  I also played plenty of tabletop.  I actually came up with some house rules for people specifically to mitigate the RNG of such systems… because they are okay but annoying when you just have bad rolls for a while.

malrats hehehe indeed, missing was always a factor in the old-school MMORPGs.
We’re also going with “a roll of 1 always misses”. Shitty rolls = can happen to anyone, even raid-geared players.

malrats Still a ways to go, but we’re making good progress and having fun every day, and that’s what’s most important to our team + community! Next public build is on April 30th for our Early Acess backers

That’s really great to hear. :) Consider your game very high up on my hype list.

malrats Apart from no PvP, we could say for sure to DOAC :) But absolutely to EQ; that’s one of our core inspirations.
