Skip through the daisies unmolested on Linkrealms’ new PvE server

Interested in playing the old-school Linkrealms but feeling a little shy about its PvP setting? There’s going to be a place for you in the game once the team adds a PvE server to the project.

That’s right: A PvE server ruleset is coming in April with its Steam early access launch. This second ruleset will limit PvP to a handful of areas, choosing instead to focus on more cooperative activities between players. Unlike the PvP server, the PvE shard will keep gear from being dropped upon death and allow players to limit access to their homes.

The team said that Linkrealms will remain a hardcore sandbox title on all types of realms and that transfers between the rulesets will not be allowed. There will be an open preview of the PvE server on Steam this weekend starting on April 8th.

I’ve been following LR development in the last year(s). It’s coming very slowly but it’s definitely interesting and I’m glad to see the PVE Server as promised.
I’m more tempted from shards online than LR, but it worths to check it out and see if the PVE Server will be enough populated and there will be enough Features to entertain the Players.

What I really liked in UO was the fact you could just enter a world and decide what you want to do. Be a merchant, a rares collector, a crafter.
Or when you had enough of those calm activities, Group with your guild and go in the PvP Facet where Risk vs Reward was very balanced (more resources spawn, rare materials, and the Champion spawns, only way to obtain the skills scrolls).

LR won’t have a “double” facet with PvE and PvP, so my concerns is if the devs Team will put enough efforts / updates to Keep the game interesting enough and with enough challanges for PvE Players.

And I hope the community will be more “friendly”, I understand hardcore PvP old School Players who don’t want any “CareBear” conditions on their Server, but now that we got both Servers, should be enough to make everyone happy (and more nice on Forum discussions ;)

One of the best old school games out there, PVE server is a good choice. Most of the good games like Darkfall 1.0 did not realize that a lot of people not interested in pvp, so they loose a lot of gamers. :P

I hate getting molested, so this is a good move.
