“Over the past months, our team has taken several actions to combat botting in Neverwinter,” the team said. “One aspect that several players have identified as needing to be addressed is that of skill nodes. Based on community feedback, and in our continued effort to take action against botting, we are removing refinement item drops from skill nodes.”
As part of the change, mobs will drop enchantments and runestones more often while skill nodes will now have a chance to spit out insignias for mount upgrades.

digi_owl teppic JakeDunnegan That makes no sense.
teppic JakeDunnegan And that would basically shut down the auction house over night.
Pepperzine Darthbawl DugFromTheEarth Yeah, it’s super gross IMO. I don’t think I would have kept playing Neverwinter past the first time I saw one of those messages if it wasn’t D&D.
JakeDunnegan All they had to do was make the items bound to account. This change will make the refinement items cost more, which drives more people to the store.
tobascodagama Darthbawl DugFromTheEarth TERA does it at well. It’s like going into a casino, they hope hearing other people get rare stuff makes you think you have a good chance as well.
tobascodagama pcgneurotic Oyyyyyyyyyyy, stupid me. Thanks for that! :-D
pcgneurotic The things you open with your Nature, Religion, Thievery, etc. skills.
Wait, what? I play NW often, but I’ve never heard of a “skill node”. What is that actually?
Ya know what’s funny about PW or Cryptic when it comes to fighting botting? It ALWAYS ends up in costing real players even more. Last time, when they nerfed the kinda cool web game they created, it ended up hurting the player economy and from what I can tell, the bots, not at all.
Darthbawl DugFromTheEarth Dunno about BDO. I was referring to Neverwinter itself. It spams everyone any time someone from anywhere in the world receives something good in a lockbox. There’s no way to turn it off, and it seems to happen several times per minute, on average.
