May the Fourth be with Star Wars: The Old Republic

If the world around you seems especially nerdy on May 4th every year, it’s because Star Wars fans have embraced that date as a de facto holiday. May the fourth be with you, and all that. Hey, a pun is just as good an excuse to throw a party as anything else!

Star Wars: The Old Republic isn’t immune from the fun of this geek holiday. As in previous years, BioWare has prepared some goodies for players who log in during this time. Currently through May 4th, any players who touch foot in the game will get a free astromech droid pet. This will be followed up by a couple of weeks of bonus XP from May 3rd through the 10th, then again from May 26th through the 30th.

BioWare is also hosting a speedrun contest through Knights of the Fallen Empire’s new eternal championship. The grand prize for the contest is a trip to Star Wars Celebration Europe for you and three of your best friends.
