Sacrament preps Patreon after failed Kickstarter, shows off the Thief

Sacrament, the game billing itself as “the evolution of EverQuest,” suffered a disappointing Kickstarter in April. After raising a little over $3K of a $250K goal, the campaign failed and the team said that it would be exploring Patreon for crowdfunding instead.

While it doesn’t appear that the Patreon program is alive yet, the team posted the outline of tier rewards on the forums for those who will contribute in the future. Rewards for pledging include copies of the game, in-game currency, and name reservations.

And maybe you’ll feel more in a giving mood if you are looking for a good Thief to play. Happily, Sacrament has one in the making: “Thieves are scandalous in their endeavors to rob their enemies of their goods as well as their power. The Thief specializes in debuffing the enemy and exploiting their weaknesses, benefiting both themselves and others. This, alongside their ability to DPS, makes the Thief both a cunning group member and deadly on their own as they traverse the world.”

The devs have also been talking about the various features of Sacrament, including something called the “clickie item system.” Clickies are objects that allow players to perform actions normally reserved for other roles, although the clickie version will not be as powerful as a native class’ ability would.
