WildStar opens the doors to Vault of the Archon

16

The heart of WildStar’s Arcterra is now open for the plundering.

Patch 1.5.1 came to the game today, bringing the promised debut of the Vault of the Archon. This Elden facility is guarded by to both Varegor Pass and the Fortress of Kel Havik, two deadly areas that will no doubt be littered with the corpsicles of players by this eve.

The patch has a couple of additional treats for players, such as yet another tutorial revamp — this one including training on mounts and in housing. There’s also a new welcome window and a “signature station” of the store that offers select purchases for subscribers.

These changes help to shore up the game in preparation for WildStar’s imminent launch on Steam.

Volsfan A lot of the quests are very interesting and varied in the things they have you do. I mean like, in the way that WoW has made increasingly more complex and varied quests as time goes by, Wildstar kinda started right away with some of those bonkers mechanics. It’s also (imho) very alt-friendly, so as a solo PvE player, you can entertain and sustain yourself very well.

Try wildstar lol. For a less painful alternative to going back to archeage you should try a hydrobromic acid enema.

Absolutely. Wildstar is a terrific game that is much maligned because of its launch. If the graphic style doesn’t bother you and you take a moment to learn the combat you’ll wonder why so many people waste their energy hating the game.
It’s relatively themeparky as a soloer with little side mini games depending on which path you chose but all in all its a very good game.

Can you enjoy this game as a casual solo player?
Know that sounds crazy for a mmo but between work and house renovations my time for games is limited and sporadic at best.

People still play this?
God I’m so clever.

Because we all have such good experiences from opening alien vaults on alien planets…

Honestly, the Steam launch is a Hail Mary play. Steam hasn’t made unsuccessful MMOs successful: it’s only made successful games more successful. TERA, ESO, and FFXIV were all doing quite well before coming to Steam, and being there only helped bring in a small few who wouldn’t have tried the game another way. A game struggling before going on Steam generally continues to struggle.

Try Wildstar. This update is a perfect time to jump in with a new tutorial.
