Crowfall previews the first batch of powers for the Druid

Slash heal.

The Druid of Crowfall is not a firehose healer. What does that mean? Well, for one thing, firehouses that die around her stay dead. In another and more important sense, it means that her roles isn’t simply about shoving as much healing into a target as possible. Instead, she’s meant to provide interesting gameplay that splits time between doing damage and supporting the party, as displayed in the new ability preview for the archetype on the official site.

Druid heals don’t cost resources, but instead generate a resource known as Essence; once the Druid’s Essence total breaks 80%, she starts taking damage while receiving less healing, thus preventing you from just standing back and healing constantly. Essence is also utilized by her DPS stance, though, which emphasizes swapping back and forth between launching ranged attacks and throwing healing orbs on the battlefield for your teammates. The hope, ultimately, is for an interesting and in-depth healing archetype that nevertheless provides support through something other than raw healing numbers. Good news for everyone who isn’t a firehose.

Radfist Robert80  Yeah, I thought of that as well, but I felt the Runekeeper felt better due to the healing and dps setup rather than dual dps.

Definitely going to be my main character focus.  It has taken everything I love about druids and rolled it into one.

Robert80 You don’t really get a choice in Crowfall, you have to move between them whether you like it or not.  It is more like WoW boomkin in that way, except with heals and DPS rather than two damage types.

I always have a weak spot for druids in game (back yet again on a druid in vanilla … although I am feral for life!).

I pretty much see a rehash of all the typical druid type power names but interesting to see how each game interprets them. This is a pretty much typical druid and even the tray mechanics are not new (Lotro has similar system for a class).

Crowfall druid will attract the typical druid lover where CU’s druid takes an entirely different approach which I look forward too as well.

Okay, so the Crowfall druid is the Runekeeper of LOTRO.  Except with more reason to switch back and forth, since LOTRO never really put a reason to do so in except when soloing bosses.

This class looks like a lot of fun. Can’t wait to see people playing it in testing. Supposedly aiming for next month so I’ll have to keep my eye out for that and check out some Twitch streams!
