RIFT starts selling new starter bundle for $50 (that you can buy today only)

If you’ve gotten into RIFT for a good amount of time, then chances are you’ve noticed that not everything is included under the umbrella of free-to-play. While the world content is unrestricted, there are several souls (classes) and gear types that are denied to the adventuring freeloader.

While RIFT sold each of these separately in the past, Trion Worlds has put together a new “Essentials Edition” bundle for players to obtain full access to all possible realms of character development. This edition is being sold for $50 and includes all of the extra souls from the first two expansions, the Primalist calling and its six souls, two bag slots, two earrings slots, and the ability to use Planeswalker: Water gear. Buying this unlocks all of these account-wide.

For reasons known only to Trion and certain elder gods, the studio is making the bundle available to everyone only through early May 11th (which is… tomorrow). After that, only brand-new players to RIFT will be allowed the privilege of paying for this pack.

Reht Midgetsnowman Zariarn I domnt know that they do or dont, but I’d rather assume the massively writers are uninformed instead of out on some malicious anti-trion crusade :P

Midgetsnowman Reht Zariarn Yeah, but you are willing to crucify Trion for not providing press releases even though they are posted on their site promptly.  It’s not like it’s hard to find or they even have to pour through every email to find something newsworthy.   Keep playing MOP fanboy though.

Reht Midgetsnowman Zariarn Ooor, maaaybe Trion could send out press releases to outlets like every other MMO company that wants timely news coverage, instead of relying on busy people to sift through promotional emails to see if anything sent is newsworthy while their fanboys apologize for their lack of competent PR?

Midgetsnowman Reht Zariarn They broke the news on those changes on February 5, a day after they were posted on the Trion’s site and they followed up on well after the changes went live.  Maybe they should sign up for Rift’s email updates rather that solely relying on tips from the community.

Reht squidgod2000 considered yet the possibility nobody told the people at massively the deal existed till today? >_>

Reht Midgetsnowman Zariarn right. But if they linked the release /today/ then that probably means nobody at trion gave them a heads up on this when it started.. Its not like massively can retroactively travel back a week in time.

Volsfan for me my problems is having to look the other way on the melee animations and the fact that just subbing still gets me stuck with the original souls and nothing else.

Zariarn Midgetsnowman Just because their games work fine doesnt mean that massively can magically keep track of frigign everything trion if trion never sends them press releases. Theyre not that important that they get watched like hawks for any morsel of info they have.
