Star Citizen explains 2.4 test pace, begins work on 2.5

This week’s Star Citizen Around the Verse with hosts Sandi Gardiner and Zane Bien is all about alpha 2.4, which is currently still undergoing testing on the PTU.

“We know 2.4 has taken a little extra time, but of course there’s a really good reason for that,” Bien explains. “When we’re putting in a lot of these under the hood changes, persistence and so forth, there’s a lot of unforeseen bugs that […] come up, and we have to really tackle them and resolve them in order to make it feasible for a live release.”

Gardiner further says that some of the Cloud Imperium team has already been deployed on the 2.5 patch still to come; that patch isn’t expected to be as time-consuming.

There’s plenty more, of course, including check-ins with the sub-studios and a behind-the-scenes look at the Drake Buccaneer, which is up for sale beginning today.
