The next big update for EverQuest II is coming later this month, and it’s opening up the 11th expansion to everyone; on August 23rd, GU101 will make Altar of Malice available for free. That means anyone (of the appropriate level) can explore the mystery of what happened to the Isle of Refuge in the Tranquil Sea. The update is also bringing new fabled dungeons, new level-agnostic versions of zones, and limited-time public quests. The heroic characters will also get a level increase to 95 and start their adventures in the Tranquil Seas.

The newest addition to fabled dungeons will be accessed through a portal just off the docks in The Village of Shin, but besides the level 100 requirement, players must also be all-access members to enter. The dungeons include The Fabled Nizara, City of the Nayad (Heroic and Advanced Solo), and The Fabled Cavern of the Crustaceans Raid (for 12 players). Raids of 24 players get The Fabled Xux’laio’s Roost Raid and The Fabled Antechamber of Fate Raid.

For those who aren’t yet max level, there’s more content for you, too. The new level agnostic areas — The Crypt of Agony, Crypt of Valdoon, Befallen: Cavern of the Afflicted, Guk: Halls of the Fallen, and Kael Drakkel: Iceshard Keep — will all scale from level 10 to 100 and can be access from the dungeon finder tool and the agnostic portal. Additionally, for a limited time there will be public quests scattered throughout Norrath. The damage inflicted upon players scales so that folks of all gear levels can join in.
