One Shots: Ruins in the jungle

Could Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns’ greatest achievement be in its architecture? Even though I haven’t played it, I certainly have heard a lot from fans about the spectacular sights and designs of one of its jungle cities.

“Ten months later, I still can’t get over how pretty Tarir is,” Hugmonster posted. And remember, kids, even pretty cities need their hugs from time to time.

Of course, you’ll really need to see Tarir in all of its full-color glory, so let’s dig into another captivating installment of One Shots and make plans to move into a two-bedroom apartment together!

I think it would be very hard to be a Jedi or Sith and always have a lightsaber dangling from your belt. Not only would there be safety concerns if someone jostled you and the activated saber cut you off at the knees, but there would be the omnipresent temptation to take the lightsaber out and use it for all sorts of mundane tasks. I’d totally mow my lawn by crouching and slicing away at the grass.

Anyway, Angel sent in this picture of him “yearning for violence in SWTOR’s Nar Shaddaa.” Would someone please give him an excuse to use that awesome lightsaber already?

This next shot takes some explanation from Innes: “I recently started playing WildStar when I have recently been watching Parks and Recreation. It seems that my subconcious prompted me to create a Chua and I inadvertently made him look like Ron Swanson. This was not deliberate; I only realised it while playing last night.”

Some of you had fun fulfilling last week’s challenge of taking out-of-the-way pictures in MMOs. VasDrakken scouted out this scenic location in a Black Desert Online castle that most players don’t see.

“Fun stuff, there is trick to getting the ghost to let you in, so I am leaving it the way it is but here is the current client with shots form the roof of the main keep,” he posted.

“In this cap I’m exploring how weird a mob needs to be before I won’t approach it,” Qarran wrote. “Found this giant in Blade and Soul’s Silverfrost mountains. Nearest I can figure, this guy is a giant who is part lion, part dragon, part goat. And yet, I still approached him to say hi. It did not go well.”

I think Innes is onto something fun for our weekly screenshot challenge, so let’s see you visit your character creation screen and see if you can whip up a likeness of a famous celebrity, historical figure, or fictional character!

Every week, One Shots shines a spotlight on the best community screenshots from your MMO adventures. If you have a great pic to share, email it to justin@massivelyop.com with the subject “One Shots.” Make sure that the picture is over 880px wide and comes with a description or story!
