Thank you to everyone who posted pictures of autumnal scenery from MMOs. It truly is one of the best seasons (the worst is Smarch… lousy Smarch weather!) and always makes me feel cozy and alive.
Qarran tips off things today with this shot from Blade and Soul: “Ah, the fall. Yes. One of my favorite times of year even in games. I just want sit in relax in Hogshead with these type of vistas. Blade and Soul excels at this type of stuff.”
With all of these leaves, has any MMO ever made a leaf pile that you can jump in and see explode? If not, why not? Get on that, developers!
“One of my greatest joys in Star Wars Galaxies was the band I co-founded on the Gorath server, Elysian Fields,” Mailvaltar sent in. “Players could book (and obviously pay) us for gigs and parties. We developed and practiced choreographies, with lyrics, solos for single
instruments, light show, and everything.
“Here we perform at a party a player RPing a local crime lord on Tatooine held in his fortress. There were about 25 guests there, and our performance was stellar, if I may say so myself. I’m the dashing Zabrak going wild on the Mandoviol (i.e. guitar/violin), in case you wondered.”
Speaking of both Star Wars and fall, DigitalQ immediately thought of the planet Voss in SWTOR when it came to the changing of the seasons. All I can remember of Voss is, “Lovely visuals, smelly aliens.” Am I far off there?
“Even after a year of playing, I still enjoy The Crew from time to time,” ReesRacer said, ” and it’s been nice to see such an influx of players during the free month for everyone. It can be as relaxing or nerve-inducing as I please, and the sights of America are occasionally quite lovely. Here I’m taking in a pre-dawn vista under what I’m calling the ‘harvest moon’ just outside Dallas.”
“Crush your enemies.
“See them driven before you.
“Hear the lamentations of their women.”
You need to trademark that, Koshelkin! Lovely colors from Black Desert, by the way.
I have a favor to ask of you all instead of a screenshot challenge. I would love to run a week (or two!) of Halloween pictures for One Shots, so if you have or take any, please, please email them in to me (email@example.com) instead of posting them in the comments. Let’s keep them secret and then spring them on the masses when they least suspect it!
