This past week, Amazon Game Studios unloaded the latest build of Lumberyard for community approval. We’ve got that plus stories and videos from Hyper Universe, Final Fantasy XI, RIFT, and more, all waiting for you after the break!
New Games and Testing
- The Black Death: The team tackled another small batch of player questions, discussing world events, how easy it is to contract the plague, and what eating rotten food does to you (spoiler: nothing good).
- Hyper Universe: Open beta testing is coming on November 22nd, bringing a whopping 30 classes to try out. Which one will you pick?
- Cloud Pirates: You have questions about this arena battler, the developers have answers. All you have to do is read them!
Patches
- Dark Eden: The Great Upheaval update added 12 new weapons, more dungeons, a top-level pet, and more.
- Ultima Online: Players can now dig into Publish 95, which includes new veteran rewards, holiday rewards for December, and an additional challenge from the Huntmaster.
Events
- Final Fantasy XI: A login campaign is set to run from November 11th through the 21st. “Characters who log in during the campaign period will receive a silver mog pell, which can be traded for a vide variety of special items.”
- Riders of Icarus: There’s an attendance event running all month long, so log in and grab those rewards!
Odds and Ends
- Electronic Arts: Whoops! EA accidentally banned an entire country — in this case, Myanmar — from playing games through its online service. This should be fixed by now.
- Amazon Game Studios: Lumberyard Beta 1.6 has been released, giving the players 337 improvements, including the new Twitch Metastream. It’s worth keeping an eye on this, as Lumberyard might be used to make New World.
- Wargaming: Steven Seagal, who has been the celebrity spokesperson for Wargaming as of late, was recently granted Russian citizenship by Vladimir Putin. Just when you thought all this couldn’t get any stranger. [Thanks ThatLanteshGuy!]
- Overwatch: Over 1,700 Chinese cheaters were banned in a recent wave of disciplinary action, publicly naming the offenders.
Videos
Action-RPG Project 100 is being created by Dragon Nest’s Jung Sic Park and should be coming to mobile devices next year.

Do you need a hand with creating islands in Worlds Adrift? There’s no shame in that, my friend. The dev team posted an hour-long tour of island creation followed by a speedrun that you can watch here:
MMO Culture took a look at Aura Kingdom Mobile, finding it impressive how much of the desktop game was translated to mobile but judging it too automated to be engaging.
Nexon announced that Heroes of Incredible Tales has been downloaded 6.8 million times so far, which seems to be a good start to this action-RPG. Check out the new Archer class that just came to the game:
