SMITE’s 3.23 update, more colorfully known as Wings of Victory, has rolled out to the PC version of the game today. Chief among the new additions is Nike — no, not the athletic brand but the Greek goddess of victory, who’s nearly always portrayed with wings. Indeed, her warrior-like abilities in SMITE cleave to her mythology, including a victory-related passive, a “planning” skill, and a brutal Sentinel skill that reflects her relationship to Zeus. My own husband, who tipped us off to the fact that Nike went live this morning, summed it up with this highly technical observation: “Nike ensures that if you’re winning, you get winning-er.”
There are also new skins for Camazotz and Ah Puch, plus tweaks for numerous gods and tier 5 Anubis. Hi-Rez has put together a slew of videos, including a patch run-down and Nike intro, and we’ve included it all below.
